As president of CURE, with roots in youth ministry and leadership development, he also is an avid churchman. This has resulted in his commitment to “The kingdom of God” as expressed through local churches.
Russ trains and advises pastors and leaders in the areas of youth ministry, racial reconciliation, urban outreach, and church redevelopment.

As a past instructor at the Moody Bible Institute and a past president of the National Black Evangelical Association, he was honored as “Alumnus of the Year” at Moody in 2003 and was honored by both NAE and NBEA with their joint “Racial Reconciliation” award in 1999.
