WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?

Minneapolis-St. Paul is a diverse, multi-ethnic, global city. Christian leaders must draw upon Biblical hope and truth to build Christian community in a society that otherwise tears us apart.

This conference is designed to help us learn more about our neighbors so we can build Christian community with them.

Friday, Oct. 29, 8:30-4:30p
Grace Church Roseville

Keynote speaker: Rev. Samuel Rodriguez

Rev. Samuel Rodriguez has been named one of the “7 most influential Hispanic leaders” in America. As President of the NHCLC that represents 16 million Hispanic evangelicals, Rodriguez boldly proclaims, “We want Hispanics to be the forerunners, and preservers, of our Christian faith” in America.

He meets frequently with members of congress, and participates in White House meetings, advocating on issues of justice, family values and immigration on behalf of Hispanic evangelicals.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, National Association of Evangelicals, and Christianity Today. He also serves on the advisory Board of the National Campaign to Reduce Teen Pregnancy and Pro Life initiatives with various coalitions.

Who is my neighbor?

We live in a growing cultural mosaic.  Workshops will feature stories of different neighbors: Panels of African-American pastors,  Hispanic pastors, and leaders of multi-ethnic churches in Minnesota. There will also be training to help us learn how historic racism affects society still today, as well as learning Biblical foundations for multicultural ministry, and principles for leading cultural change.

Building on the momentum of the first two leadership conferences in October 2008 and June 2009, Coming Together 2010: Who is my neighbor? will explore the power of Jesus Christ and teachings from the Bible to help give us vision, knowledge and tools for ministering in a multicultural society
